Dollar rate in Argentina today: official, blue, MEP and CCL from your AI assistant
Ask an AI assistant what the dollar is trading at in Argentina and, on its own, it answers with the last figure it remembers, which may be months old. With Argentina Data MCP connected, your assistant looks up the current rate and shows it to you with the source and the time of the quote.
It covers the eight exchange rates used in Argentina: official, Banco Nación (the state bank's board rate), dólar blue (the informal rate), MEP, contado con liquidación (CCL), wholesale, crypto and card rate. And since it keeps history since 2020 for seven of them (the Banco Nación board rate has no historical series), you can also ask for the evolution of any of them, the gap between two rates, or a month's average.
What you can ask
- What is the blue dollar rate today?
- What is the gap between the official and the blue dollar right now?
- Show me the MEP dollar over the last 3 months
- How much has the official dollar gone up so far this year?
- What is the difference between the MEP dollar and the CCL?
- How much is 1,500 dollars at today's card rate?
- Compare today's blue dollar with a year ago
Which exchange rates you can look up
Each exchange rate answers a different question, and the assistant knows which one to use based on what you ask:
- Official: the retail reference rate, the one used for imports and contracts.
- Banco Nación: the board rate of the state-owned Banco de la Nación (BNA), which can differ by a few cents from the official reference rate.
- Blue: the informal rate, the one people mean when they talk about the gap.
- MEP and CCL: the financial rates, implied by buying and selling bonds.
- Wholesale: the rate traded between banks and companies.
- Crypto: the rate implied by stablecoins.
- Card: the official rate plus the taxes you pay when spending abroad.
History and the gap, no spreadsheets
History starts in 2020 for seven rates (all except the Banco Nación board rate). You can ask for a specific date ("what was the blue dollar on December 10, 2023?"), a range ("the MEP dollar in June") or go straight to analysis: how much the gap moved in six months, which month hit the peak, or how it compares with inflation over the same period. The assistant builds the answer from the data and tells you where each number came from.
