How to ask for a figure without knowing the series

The search understands Argentine synonyms: inflation finds the CPI, capital flight finds the formation of external assets, unemployment finds the unemployment rate. You can also search by agency (INDEC series on construction) or by acronym. Once the series is located, you can ask for it as a level, as a monthly change or as a year-over-year change, change its frequency (a daily series summarized by month or by quarter) and combine up to ten series in a single query to compare them. The metadata tells you the source, the frequency, the date range covered and the latest value.

Weekly summary and historical comparator

Two beta features, included in the Pro plan, cross several sources in a single question. The weekly economic summary builds a digest with the dollar, BCRA indicators, inflation, foreign trade and the tax regulations published during the week. The historical comparator puts today's economy side by side with the one from N months ago: dollar, exchange gap, reserves, BADLAR, inflation and activity. And for the exchange rate, the dollar history since 2020 can be crossed with any of these series.

Sources and update frequency

• BCRA (Central Bank of Argentina): more than 1,000 monetary and financial variables: reserves, monetary base, interest rates, reference exchange rate.
• INDEC: EMAE, CPI, industrial production (IPI), construction (ISAC), wages, employment.
• datos.gob.ar: open data portal that republishes series from more than 40 official agencies.

Each series is updated at its agency's pace: the BCRA's daily variables, such as reserves and interest rates, day by day; INDEC's monthly series, with each report. Every answer states the date of the latest data point.
