Which inflation series you can ask for

All inflation series come from the INDEC CPI, the official source. You can ask for:

• Monthly inflation: the change in the CPI from one month to the previous one, the number that makes the headlines.
• Year-over-year inflation: how much prices rose compared with the same month a year earlier.
• Cumulative inflation: how much prices rose since January, or between any two dates you choose. The assistant chains the months together and shows you the math.
• Core, regulated and seasonal: the three components INDEC publishes alongside the headline index.
• The twelve divisions: food and beverages, transportation, health, housing, education, clothing and the rest, to see which category is driving prices.

Adjusting an amount for inflation

It is the most common query: what 50,000 pesos from March 2022 are worth today. You give it the amount and the two dates, and the assistant looks up the CPI for each month, calculates the coefficient and returns the adjusted amount with a breakdown of which index values it used. Limits worth knowing

The CPI is monthly: there is no such thing as today's or this week's inflation, and each month's figure is only known the following month. If you ask about a month INDEC has not published yet, the assistant tells you so instead of estimating it. REM expectations are market forecasts, not INDEC measurements, and are always presented as such. The weekly summary and the historical comparator, which cross inflation with the dollar and reserves, are beta features of the Pro plan.
