Monotributo 2026: categories, amounts, income caps and due dates from your AI assistant

If you search Google for the 2026 categories of the monotributo (Argentina's simplified tax regime for small taxpayers), you find tables from different points in time and cannot always tell which one is current. With Argentina Data MCP connected, your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT or another) looks up the values that ARCA (Argentina's tax agency, formerly AFIP) publishes for the current semester and answers with the source and the verification date in plain view.

It covers all eleven categories, A through K: the annual gross income cap for each one, the integrated tax, the pension contribution and the health insurance contribution, and the total fee paid per month, with the difference between providing services and selling goods. It also includes the monthly due dates by the last digit of your CUIT (Argentine tax ID) and, with the Pro plan, the parameters reviewed at each recategorization (recategorización, the mandatory category update) and a comparison with what being a responsable inscripto (registered under the general regime) would mean.

Everything is for guidance only. The amounts are updated every semester and the answer tells you the date they took effect. If the period has already closed and the new values are not loaded yet, the assistant says so instead of handing you an old number as if it were current.

What you can ask

  • What are the current monotributo categories and how much do you pay in each one?
  • How much is the monotributo fee for category A this semester?
  • I bill ARS 30 million a year for services. Which monotributo category do I fall into?
  • What is the billing cap for the highest monotributo category?
  • When is the monotributo payment due for a CUIT ending in 5?
  • When is the next monotributo recategorization and what gets evaluated?
  • Should I stay in the monotributo or switch to responsable inscripto if I bill ARS 8 million a month?
  • What did ARCA publish about the monotributo in the Boletín Oficial this month?

What each monotributo category includes

For each category, A through K, the assistant has the data ARCA publishes for the semester:

  • Annual gross income cap: the most you can bill in twelve months and still stay in that category.
  • Integrated tax: different depending on whether you provide services or sell goods, starting from category C.
  • Pension contribution and health insurance contribution: the two social security components of the fee.
  • Total monthly fee: the sum of the three, which is what you actually pay each month.

With that, questions like "which category am I in if I bill this much per year?" or "how much do I pay per month in category D?" get answered with the table currently in force, not with whatever the assistant remembers from some other moment. For the recategorization, the detailed monotributo query (beta, Pro plan) tells you when the next one is, which parameters are evaluated and what happens if you skip it.

Monotributo or responsable inscripto

One of the most common questions is whether to stay in the monotributo or move to the general regime. The assistant can put the comparison together: it takes your billing, places it in a category, calculates the monthly fee and contrasts it with what being a responsable inscripto would mean, using the VAT and income tax brackets in force for the same semester. It is a first approximation with official numbers, useful for bringing better questions to your accountant, not a final decision: which option is better depends on your deductible expenses, your clients and your province.

Due dates and limits worth knowing

The fee's due date depends on the last digit of your CUIT. Ask the assistant for this month's due dates as a monotributista and it builds the list with the dates from ARCA's calendar; if a date is estimated rather than confirmed, it flags it. When the semester closes and ARCA has not yet published the new values, the answer says so explicitly instead of presenting the old amounts as current. Before paying, always confirm the amount on ARCA's website: what you get here is the reference, not the payment slip.

Tools that answer it

You ask in plain language and your assistant picks the tool. The names are listed so you can recognize them in the answer:

legislacion_tributaria

monotributo_consultaBeta

calendario_impositivo

Tools marked Beta are included in the Pro plan (ARS 1,100 per month). The Free plan includes every stable tool.

Sources and update frequency

Income caps and fees are loaded when ARCA publishes each semester's values. Every answer states which period it corresponds to and warns if that period has already expired.

Frequently asked questions

Are the monotributo values the ones for this semester?

They are the latest ones ARCA published, and every answer states which period they correspond to. If that period has already expired and the new one is not loaded yet, the assistant warns you instead of presenting the number as current.

Can it tell me which monotributo category I fall into?

Yes. Tell it how much you bill per year and whether you provide services or sell goods, and the assistant places you in a category based on the current income caps and tells you the monthly fee for that category.

Does it tell me when the monotributo payment is due?

Yes. With the last digit of your CUIT it returns the month's due dates according to ARCA's calendar, and if a due date falls on a non-business day it tells you which day it moves to.

Does it cover the recategorization?

Yes, with the Pro plan: the date of the next recategorization, the parameters that get evaluated and what happens if you skip it are part of the detailed monotributo query, which is in beta. With the Free plan you get the current income caps to know which category you fall into.

Is it free?

The categories, income caps and fees and the due date calendar are in the Free plan (20 queries per day, no credit card). The detailed monotributo query, which includes the recategorization and the comparison with responsable inscripto, is in beta and comes with the Pro plan, which costs ARS 1,100 per month.
