Monotributo categories 2026: how much you pay, when it is due and what happens if you exceed the cap

If you are a monotributista (a taxpayer under the monotributo, Argentina's simplified tax regime for small taxpayers), the caps and monthly fees change every six months, and the answer a generic AI chat gives you may be last semester's. Argentina Data MCP connects Claude or ChatGPT to the current values published by ARCA (Argentina's tax agency, formerly AFIP): categories A through K with their billing caps, the monthly fee for each one, the due dates based on the last digit of your CUIT (Argentine tax ID) and the holidays that shift the date. Every answer states where the data comes from and when it was verified.

It is not an accountant and does not replace yours. It is the fastest way to settle a specific question without opening five tabs: which category you fall into with what you bill, how much you owe this month, what day it is due, or what the dollar is trading at the day a payment from abroad comes in.

What you solve with one question

Find out which category you fall into

You bill roughly the same every month and are not sure whether you are still in your category or should already be in the next one. Tell the assistant how much you bill and whether you sell goods or services: it compares against this semester's current caps and tells you the category that applies and how much room you have left.

I bill about ARS 2,500,000 a month for services. Which monotributo category am I in and what is that category's cap?

Find out how much you pay per month

The fee changes every semester and the figure you remember may be outdated. Ask about your category and the assistant gives you the current monthly fee, with the date the value was verified.

How much is the monthly monotributo fee for category D, and for category E? Tell me the date of the value.

Find out when it is due and whether it falls on a holiday

The monotributo due date depends on the last digit of your CUIT, and when it falls on a holiday or a weekend it moves. The assistant cross-checks ARCA's due date calendar against the national holidays and gives you the exact date for this month.

When is monotributo due this month for a CUIT ending in 3? Does it fall on a holiday or a weekend?

What happens if you exceeded the cap

You added up the last twelve months of billing and it comes out above your category's cap. Before you panic, ask the assistant to compare your billing against the current caps: it tells you which category you would belong to and what its fee is, with the rule behind it so you can confirm with your accountant.

I billed ARS 45 million in the last 12 months. Did I exceed the cap for category F? Which category should I move to and how much would I pay?

Get paid from abroad and know which exchange rate applies

A dollar payment from a foreign client comes in and you want to know how many pesos that is today at the exchange rate that applies to you. The assistant brings you the day's rates (the official rate, the MEP and CCL financial dollar rates, and the others) and, with the Pro plan, what ARCA publishes about exporting services as a monotributista (that guide is a beta feature).

I am getting paid 1,200 US dollars from abroad. What are the official and MEP dollar rates today, and what do I need to keep in mind as a monotributista when invoicing a foreign client?

Frequently asked questions

Are the monotributo caps and fees up to date?

Yes. Values are loaded every semester from what ARCA publishes and every answer states the date they were verified. If a value changed recently and has not been verified yet, the answer says so instead of giving you an old number.

Does it tell me exactly how much I have to pay?

It gives you the current fee for your category and the date of the value. It is for guidance only: if you have surcharges, outstanding debt or a special situation, the amount you pay is confirmed by your ARCA account or your accountant.

Can I see how I appear in ARCA's taxpayer registry?

Yes. With your CUIT, the assistant queries the public registry and shows you the VAT, income tax and monotributo status that ARCA publishes. It also works for checking a client before invoicing them.

Will I find out when something new comes out about monotributo?

You can ask what ARCA published in the Boletín Oficial this week about monotributo and the assistant lists the rules with their dates. It is not an automatic alert: you check whenever you want.

How much does it cost?

The Free plan gives you 20 queries per day, 100 per week and 300 per month, with no credit card, and includes categories, due dates, holidays, the taxpayer registry and exchange rates. The Pro plan, at ARS 1,100 per month, adds the beta tools, such as the detailed monotributo query.
